Katy and Jordan built their wedding at One Great George Street around a dress—and let the celebration change gear as the day went on. Their starting point was a handpainted gown from House of Savin, its soft floral colours carrying through the flowers, stationery and wedding party. The result paired formal London rooms and a traditional Jewish ceremony with playful touches, live music and a late-night pizza send-off.

The couple welcomed 200 guests to the Westminster venue. The Great Hall’s scale, tall ceilings and wood floors shaped practical design choices: they made the chuppah large enough to stand out in the room and skipped a raised stage so the floor remained visible. Here’s how Katy and Jordan connected those decisions to the ceremony, party and personal details.

A first meeting with a long prelude

Katy and Jordan matched on Hinge in 2020, after the first Covid lockdown. But their story had an earlier twist: Katy’s mother had met Jordan in April 2019 and messaged her daughter, “I met your future husband today.” Katy recognised his name because they had matched on Jswipe four months earlier, though the conversation had gone nowhere. Jordan later explained that he had been travelling; Katy’s mother, meanwhile, had already made her prediction.

Let the outfit set the palette

Katy had imagined an A-line dress, but her mother encouraged her to try colour. At House of Savin, she found the “Bloom” gown, with a basque waist and handpainted flowers. The original tones felt too dark to her, so she asked whether the colours could be softened. The team adjusted the paint, giving her the pastel finish she wanted.

That decision provided a clear design anchor: blue, lilac, pink, green and white appeared across the chuppah and floral scheme. Katy’s bridesmaids wore satin in lilac, blue and pink, with two wearing each colour. The coordinated shades tied the group to her dress while allowing the wedding party to share the palette.

Her accessories included a two-tier veil from Blossom and Bluebird and shoes from Charles & Keith. Katy also had a kippah made from the fabric of her gown for Jordan. Hair, including a style change, was by Gintare Hairstylist, and makeup was by Make Up by Helen Rose.

A traditional ceremony with personal touches

The day began with a black-tie feel, a string quartet and a traditional Orthodox Jewish ceremony. Katy and Jordan chose instrumental arrangements of traditional Jewish songs instead of a chazan. Jordan entered to Frank Ocean; Katy walked to Max Richter, with a badeken partway up the aisle.

They placed a custom ceremony guide on guests’ seats. Filled with personal jokes and irreverent humour, it gave guests context and helped express the couple’s personality during a ceremony in which the bride and groom have limited speaking roles. For couples planning a ceremony with unfamiliar customs, their example offers a way to welcome guests without changing the ritual itself.

The floral chuppah brought the dress colours together and was designed to hold its own beneath the Great Hall’s high ceilings. Katy and Jordan left the venue’s wood floor uncovered, choosing not to add a stage. Florist Alina of Flowers by Alina selected seasonal blooms in the chosen colours. Peonies featured in Katy’s bouquet and the chuppah, where their fragrance filled the room. The arrangements mixed tall and low table pieces, with two flower urns at the foot of the staircase.

From formal start to a packed dance floor

Music was a major priority for Jordan, so the couple booked a 10-piece band, Jam Hot Showband. The band learned their first-dance song and helped plan a surprise entrance. The playlist leaned into 1990s and early-2000s favourites; each speaker also entered to a television theme chosen to suit their personality. Katy chose the Peep Show theme, while Jordan went with Curb Your Enthusiasm.

The couple wanted the reception to loosen up after the formal ceremony. They served kosher-certified BuzzBallz cocktails at dinner, along with Baby Guinness and tequila shots. For their surprise entrance to “Where Is My Husband,” Katy took the microphone as Jordan carried plastic water guns filled with tequila. They ended the night with pizza for guests to take on their way out.

Coordinator Natalie Brand of Events With Natalie helped bring the many moving parts together. The couple’s stationery suite, designed by Katy’s creative work partner, used a mix of patterns and shapes in a pastel style they described as Parisian-inspired. An invitation suite can make a colour scheme visible before guests arrive; here, it was one part of a larger set of details designed to feel unmistakably theirs.

Keeping the day personal and manageable

Photographer Ela Tatiana Photography worked with the couple on a plan tailored to their family dynamics and busy schedule. Katy and Jordan valued her editorial style, attentive preparation and calm presence, as well as her ability to coordinate family portraits and make time for sunset photos alongside another supplier. They also booked videographer Green Biscuit; they praised Wayne’s approach and said their finished film had not yet arrived at the time of writing.

The couple used The Wedding Shop for their registry. They each made a speech, with Jordan’s taking the form of a comedy set. After the wedding, their plans were a safari in Kenya and Tanzania, followed by time in Zanzibar.

Katy and Jordan’s advice to couples is simple: choose what feels right to you, question traditions that don’t fit, and keep the day in perspective. If planning stops being enjoyable, they suggest taking a break and returning to it later. Their wedding’s strongest thread was the way a single colourful dress informed choices from the chuppah to the bridesmaids, while the ceremony guide, music and late-night food made space for the couple’s own humour and priorities.
