Nidhi and Arjun’s Gujarati Wedding at the Biltmore Hotel in Miami
Gujarati traditions met beachside celebrations, a Tuscan inspired ceremony and personal touches across Nidhi and Arjun’s wedding weekend in Miami.

Nidhi and Arjun built their Miami wedding around a thoughtful mix of Gujarati customs, personal choices and distinct settings for each celebration. Their weekend moved from a relaxed beachside haldi to a Rajasthani royalty themed garba and a Tuscan countryside ceremony, with food and small details helping each event feel different. The Biltmore Hotel Miami Coral Gables hosted the wedding, and The Blemished Tales photographed the celebrations.

A story rooted close to home
The couple had spent much of their lives living just five minutes apart without knowing it. They later attended the same college and began dating while in medical school. That shared history carried into Arjun’s proposal in Philadelphia, on a tree lined street they often walked together and pictured living on one day.
With help from Nidhi’s cousins, Arjun hung photographs of the two of them on the street’s string lights. He told Nidhi they were going to dinner with her cousins, then led her along the familiar route and proposed at its end. Nidhi recalled that the surprise left her crying, with just enough time to say yes.

Choosing a photographer for the celebrations
After looking at numerous venues, Nidhi and Arjun changed their plans and chose to hold a destination wedding in the United States. They wanted photographs that could capture the visual character of an Indian wedding, and decided to work with a photographer from India. After speaking with several photographers, they chose The Blemished Tales. A pre-wedding shoot in Jaipur gave them an early chance to work together; they said the team was hardworking, easy to collaborate with and produced images they loved.

Beachside haldi and a Gujarati garba
The first gathering paired the haldi with a welcome party. Nidhi and Arjun chose a beachside venue for an informal, intimate start to the weekend. Guests were greeted with mimosas and brunch, including a waffle bar and fresh tropical fruit. A pasta station served lunch, and coconuts engraved with the couple’s names and event date offered fresh coconut water.
After the meal, the couple sat for the haldi and then ran into the ocean to wash it off. That simple transition made the setting part of the celebration: guests could share the ceremony and then watch the couple head straight into the water.

For the garba, Nidhi wanted the Gujarati music and dancing she loves to take center stage. The event’s Rajasthani Royalty theme gave the evening a traditional feel, while food stations offered casual, easy to enjoy options. A Mexican station served paneer quesadillas; dessert included ice golas and doughnuts made fresh at a station. A 360 degree photo booth added another activity for guests between dancing and food.

A countryside inspired ceremony and reception
The wedding’s Tuscan Countryside look centered on fresh, abundant florals. Cascading flowers covered the mandap and continued down the aisle, lining its length. The day began with a Gujarati breakfast. For the baraat, the couple chose a white Jeep in place of a white horse, then offered guests mango and rose lassi to cool down after the procession.
Nidhi and Arjun kept the ceremony grounded in Gujarati tradition while making choices that suited them. Nidhi walked to the mandap on her own rather than being escorted by her maternal uncle, as is customary in the tradition she described. The personal adjustment sat naturally alongside the ceremony’s other familiar elements.

For the reception, the couple carried the ceremony’s look into the room and added candle chandeliers to each table. Cocktail hour featured several food stations, including pani puri and Mediterranean dishes. The dinner menu focused on traditional Punjabi food, followed by French pastries from the bakery at the venue. The shift from Gujarati breakfast to Punjabi dinner gave the day’s food its own progression while keeping the couple’s cultural roots present.

Wedding team and attire
The celebration took shape with Elite Dream Creations as planner and Dreams to Reality handling wedding décor. Nidhi wore Akriti by Ritika for the haldi, Marwar Couture for the garba, Matsya World for the wedding and Asiana Couture for the reception. Arjun’s wedding outfit was by Shyamal & Bhumika. Awaaz Entertainment provided the reception DJ, and The Blemished Tales photographed the wedding.
Across the weekend, Nidhi and Arjun made room for custom: a beachside haldi, a garba shaped by Nidhi’s love of Gujarati traditions, and a ceremony that kept meaningful customs while reflecting the bride’s own choice to walk alone. Their planning offers a clear idea to borrow: let each gathering have a purpose, then use food, setting and personal decisions to tie the celebrations together.
